Jaunt, a virtual reality tech startup based in Palo Alto, has raised $27.8 million in a Series B round led by Highland Capital Partners with participation from Google Ventures and existing investors Redpoint Ventures, British Sky Broadcasting, Peter Gotcher and Blake Krikorian. Jaunt is building a camera with a ring of lenses that is able to capture nearly a full sphere of video that can be edited with its software. Emerging from stealth just five months ago, Jaunt will use the new funding to expand its team, build more cameras, and produce films.

Lastline, a malware defense startup headquartered in Redwood City, has raised $10 million in new funding from Dell Ventures, Presidio Ventures, and existing investors Redpoint Ventures and e.ventures. Lastline provides a malware defense platform to detect and stop advanced threats, protecting large distributed organizations on existing hardware and in the cloud. Founded in 2011, Lastline has raised nearly $24 million to date and will use the latest cash to focus on its growing enterprise customer base and form new partnerships.

Fancred, a social network for sports fans, has raised $3 million in new funding from existing investors Atlas Venture and Militello Capital along with new investor Breakaway Innovation Group. With Fancred, sports fans can capture and share their favorite game moments and interact with other fans while building up their Fancred rating. Founded in 2012 in Boston, Fancred will use the new cash to expand its engineering team, build an Android version of its iOS app, and continue expanding its user community.
