Thumbtack, a local services marketplace based in San Francisco, has raised $100 million in a new funding round led by Google Capital with participation from existing investors Tiger Global Management, Sequoia Capital, and Javelin Venture Partners. Thumbtack's platform helps people find professionals for a wide variety of services from tutoring to home improvement. Founded in 2008, Thumbtack currently facilitates over 3 million projects a year, and plans to use the latest funding to launch nationwide marketing campaigns and grow its engineering team.

Xamarin, a cross-platform development startup, has raised $54 million in a Series C round led by Insight Venture Partners with participation from all previous investors including Floodgate, Charles River Ventures, Ignition Partners, and Lead Edge. Xamarin provides mobile software development tools to help developers build and test cross-platform native applications. Founded in 2011 in San Francisco, Xamarin has raised $82 million to date and will use the new cash to back international operations, specifically in Europe.

DoubleDutch, a mobile events app, has raised a $19 million Series D round led by Mithril Capital Management with participation from Index Ventures and previous investors Bessemer and Bullpen Capital. DoubleDutch creates mobile apps that capture and surface data from events and conferences to help staff organize and attendees navigate large events. Founded in 2011 and based in San Francisco, DoubleDutch has raised over $37 million to date and will use the latest cash to expand its global reach and build out technical capabilities.
