FoodPanda, a Rocket Internet-backed food delivery company based in Berlin, has raised $60 million in Series D funding from existing investor Falcon Edge Capital as well as Rocket Internet. FoodPanda is an online marketplace for restaurants currently available in 40 countries with a focus on markets in Southeast Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa. Founded in 2012, FoodPanda has raised $108 million to date and will invest the latest funding into growth in existing markets, improving customer service and partnering with additional restaurants.

BuzzFeed, a social news and media company based in New York, has raised $50 million in additional funding from Andreessen Horowitz. BuzzFeed is a tech-focused media company that optimizes content for social and mobile channels. Founded in 2008, BuzzFeed has raised $96 million to date and will use the latest cash to introduce new content sections, build out its video arm, and create an in-house incubator for new technology.

Plated, a meal-kit startup based in New York, has raised $15 million in a new Series A funding led by Greycroft Partners with participation from Formation 8, ff Venture Capital, Lerer Ventures, Great Oaks Venture Capital, Kite Ventures and Slow Ventures. Plated delivers recipes and pre-measured ingredients so that customers can cook their own meals in 30 minutes or less. Founded in 2012, Plated has raised over $21 million to date and will use the new funding to boost growth, opening a fourth fulfillment center in Miami this week.
