Segment, a customer data startup headquartered in San Francisco, has raised $15 million in a Series A round led by Accel Partners with participation from Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and e.ventures. Segment, previously known as Segment.io, provides a platform for developers that collects, translates and routes customer data into a hub so that it can be easily shared and integrated with third party apps. Founded in 2012, Segment will use the new funding to integrate new tools for transmitting data and build out its engineering team.

Thync, a neuroscience-inspired consumer electronics startup, has raised $13 million in Series A funding from Khosla Ventures. Thync is creating wearable technology that uses neurosignaling to shift a users state of mind, inducing feelings of energy or calmness. Founded in 2011 and based in Los Gatos, CA, Thync's first product has yet to be revealed but is slated for public release next year.

LeadGenius, a lead generation startup based in Berkeley, CA, has raised $6 million in a Series A round led by Sierra Ventures with participation from Kapor Capital, FundersClub, Fuel Capital, Bee Partners, Scrum Ventures, CRCM, 500 Startups, and angels including Sam Altman, Alexis Ohanian and Garry Tan. LeadGenius is an end-to-end sales acceleration solution that uses big data analytics to help sales organizations prospect more efficiently. Founded in 2011 by three Berkeley grad students, LeadGenius has raised $8.2 million to date and will use the latest cash to build out the product and grow its customer base.
