Building Robotics, a workspace environment startup based in Oakland, CA, has raised $5.5 million in a Series A round led by Claremont Creek Ventures and The Westly Group. Building Robotics aims to enhance workspace comfort and energy savings through its initial product Comfy, a smart heating and cooling system that allows individuals to adjust the temperature in their personal space. Founded last year, Building Robotics has raised $6.7 million to date and will use the latest funding to back new product innovation.

Insightpool, a social media engagement startup headquartered in Atlanta, GA, has raised $4 million in a Series A round led by TDF Ventures and Silicon Valley Bank with participation from angels Peter Knight, Steve Chamberlain, Chris Walters and Steve Koonin. Insightpool provides an analytics and social media campaign platform to help companies identify and connect with their target audience online. Founded in 2012, Insightpool had previously raised $500k in seed funding and will use the new cash to build out a mobile app and a second version of its online platform.

Roost, a smart home tech provider based in Sunnyvale, CA, has raised nearly $1 million in seed funding from investors including DCM, Jason Krikorian, and Legend Star, an investment division of China's Legend Holdings. Roost is developing a connected smart home platform that will allow users to retrofit existing household products and simply transform them into smart connected devices. Emerging from stealth today, Roost will announce its first product this fall that will be sold for under $50 and coupled with a mobile app.
