Qualtrics, a market research software company based in Provo, UT, has raised $150 million in a massive Series B round led by Insight Venture Partners with participation from Accel Partners and Sequoia Capital. The latest round values Qualtrics at over $1 billion, making it the second online survey company (after SurveyMonkey) to join the $1 billion club. Founded in 2002, Qualtrics has raised $220 million to date and will use the new funding to back product innovation and international growth.

Udacity, an online education provider headquartered in Mountain View, has raised $35 million in a Series C round led by Drive Capital with participation from Bertelsmann, Valor Capital Group, Cox Enterprises, and Japanese staffing company Recruit, along with previous investors Andreessen Horowitz, CRV, Peter Levine and George Zachary. Udacity partners with leading tech companies to create online programming and data science classes in which close to 30 million students have enrolled. Founded in 2011, Udacity has raised $55 million to date and will use the latest cash to expand worldwide.

Robinhood, a stock trading startup based in Redwood City, has raised $13 million in a Series A round led by Index Ventures with participation from Ribbit Capital, Dave Morin, Howard Lindzon, Aaron Levie, and celebrity investors Snoop Dogg, Jared Leto, and Nas. Robinhood provides a zero-fee stock trading service via mobile app geared toward a younger, less wealthy demographic with 80% of current users under 30. Launched out of stealth in April of last year, Robinhood will use the new funds to grow its engineering and design team in preparation for a public launch in early 2015.
