MapR Technologies, a San Jose, Calif.-based Hadoop vender, has raised $80 million in new venture capital from Google Capital, Qualcomm Ventures, and previous investors Lightspeed Venture Partners, Mayfield Fund, NEA and Redpoint Ventures. MapR simultaneously raised $30 million in debt financing led by Silicon Valley Bank. MapR provides an enterprise-grade big data platform that is used across financial services, retail, media, healthcare, and government organizations. Founded in 2009, MapR has raised $139 million in equity capital to date and will use the latest cash to expand its vertical growth and prep for an initial public offering.

Chloe + Isabel, a social commerce jewelry brand, has raised $15 million in Series C round led by new investor SoftBank Capital with participation from existing investors General Catalyst, First Round Capital, Forerunner Ventures and Floodgate. New York-based Chloe + Isabel provides a platform for women to build online stores featuring their favorite jewelry from the brand, which they then market via social networks. Founded in 2011, Chloe + Isabel has raised nearly $33 million to date and will use the most recent funding to go after other verticals like handbags and beauty products and expand into Asia.

Yik Yak, an anonymous messaging startup based in Atlanta, has raised $10 million in Series A funding led by DCM with participation from Azure Capital Partners, Renren Lianhe Holdings, and Tim Draper. Yik Yak is an anonymous bulletin board, especially popular in college communities, that lets users share their thoughts and reply to comments from users in a 1.5 mile radius. Founded in 2013, Yik Yak plans to use the latest funding to expand its team, improve its iOS and Android apps, and ramp up marketing efforts.
