San Francisco-based travel search site Hipmunk has raised $20 million in a Series C round led by Oak Investment Partners with participation from Institutional Venture Partners and Ignition Partners. Hipmunk presents airline flight search results in a visual timeline and hotel results on a map to simplify the travel planning process for users. Founded in 2010, Hipmunk has raised just over $40 million to date and will use the latest cash to expand its cross-platform strategy, add new verticals such as car rental, and increase hiring.

Washington, D.C.-based management software startup Salsa Labs has raised $5 million in new funding from Edison Ventures and Maryland Venture Fund. Salsa Labs provides fundraising, marketing, and communication tools to nonprofits and political campaigns, helping organizations expand, engage and retain supporters. Founded in 2009, Salsa serves more than 2,000 organizations and 15,000 campaigns and will use the new funding to grow its team and back further product innovation.

Massachusetts-based indoor gardening startup Grove Labs has raised $2.05 million in a seed round led by Upfront Ventures with participation from Felicis Ventures, Vayner RSE, Galvanize Ventures, and Timothy Ferriss. Grove Labs sells indoor gardening modules that allow consumers to grow their own fruits and vegetables year round in their homes. Founded in 2013, Grove Labs hopes to ship its modules next year and will more than double its current team of 5 with the new funds.
