Stockholm-based mobile payments company iZettle has raised a €40 million Series C round led by Zouk Capital with participation from new investors Dawn Capital and Intel Capital as well as existing investors Creandum, Greylock, Index, Northzone, and SEB. iZettle offers payment solutions for both person-to-person and business-to-consumer e-commerce transactions. Launched in 2011, iZettle is now a team of 150 spread across nine markets and plans to use the latest funding to focus on offline transactions and back international expansion.

San Francisco-based genetic testing company Counsyl has raised $28 million in a Series D funding co-led by Rosemont Seneca Technology Partners and Goldman Sachs Asset Management. Counsyl provides a spit kit for collecting DNA samples, making it easy and affordable for people to get screened for a wide range of conditions. Founded in 2008, Counsyl has raised a total of $93 million in funding and screened 250,000 patients to date, and will put the latest cash toward product development and testing.

New York-based educational programming app Hopscotch has just announced a $1.2 million seed round from Resolute Ventures, Collaborative Fund, Kapor Capital, and other unnamed investors. Hopscotch is visual, object-oriented programming language designed for iPad that helps kids learn to code. Founded in 2011 and listed on the app store for about a year, Hopscotch has since been used by teachers and kids in more than 100 countries and has just released the 2.0 version of its app.
