San Francisco-based meal delivery service Munchery has raised $28 million in a Series B round led by Sherpa Ventures with participation from Jon Favreau, Roy Choi, and previous investors e.ventures and Menlo Ventures. Through Munchery's online site and mobile app, customers can order dinners prepared by local chefs for same-day delivery each weeknight. Founded in 2011, Munchery has raised over $32 million to date and will use the new funds to expand the service to Seattle.

San Francisco-based API testing service Runscope has raised $6 million in a Series A funding led by General Catalyst Partners with participation from Lerer Ventures and True Ventures. Runscope helps developers test and debug APIs with Radar, its flagship product for testing backend services. Founded last year, Runscope will use the latest funds to grow its team and launch Runscope Enterprise, an API debugging tool for large companies.

Montreal-based talent marketplace Crew has raised $2.1 million in new funding led by Fred Destin of Atlas Venture with participation from Naval Ravikant, Real Ventures, iNovia Capital, and Boldstart Ventures. Crew, previously known as Ooomf, is a freelancer marketplace that connects mobile and web developers with projects that fit their skill set. Founded in 2012 and re-launched last year, Crew will put the funds toward doubling its tea and automating its matching technology.
