Rocket Internet closes $1B European VC fund
Berlin-based Rocket Internet has closed on $1 billion for what it describes as the largest European fund focused on early through growth stage investments in internet companies.
Thiel’s Mithril tech fund raises about $850M
Peter Thiel has been having an influential year, and is topping it off with a big fundraise. Mithril Capital Management, the technology investment firm he co-founded with Ajay Royan in 2012, has closed on roughly $850 million for its latest fund. The firm’s current portfolio includes about 22 companies in sectors including biotech, financial services and analytics.
Wix acquires Flok for customer loyalty
Wix, the publicly traded provider of tools for building websites, announced that it is acquiring Flok, a developer of customer loyalty apps. New York-based Flok, founded in 2011, previously raised about $19 million in venture funding.
