JetSmarter raises $105M
JetSmarter, provider of a marketplace and app for private jet services, has raised $105 million in Series C funding at a reported $1.5 billion pre-money valuation. The company had previously secured backing from Jay Z and members of the Saudi royal family, and the latest round includes a mix of new and existing investors.
Google buys Cronologics for smartwatch tech
Google acquired Cronologics, developer of a smartwatch and wearables technology, for an undisclosed amount. Silicon Valley-based Cronologics was founded in 2014, and recently launched an Android-powered watch called the CoWatch that works with Amazon’s Alexa.
Maris won’t launch $230M VC fund
Bill Maris, the former CEO of Google’s venture arm, has reportedly dropped plans to raise a $230 million life science-focused VC fund. While he had funding lined up, Maris told Recode that he plans instead to take some time off and explore other ideas.
