Adobe acquires TubeMogul
Adobe announced it has agreed to acquire Emeryville, Calif-based TubeMogul, a publicly traded provider of tools for buying and running video ads across multiple devices, in a transaction valued at $540 million. Adobe says it plans to incorporate TubeMogul’s technology to develop better tools that “enable brands to capitalize on the meteoric shift to online video.”
Google rolls out Daydream VR headset
Google rolled out its new virtual reality headset, Daydream, and early reviews gave the device mostly positive assessments for one of cheaper VR options on the market. Retailing for $79, the smartphone-powered headset is costlier but far more sophisticated than its predecessor, the pared-down Cardboard.
Zipline raises $25M for drone-delivered health supplies
Zipline, a developer of drone transportation technology for delivering medical supplies to remote locations, has raised $25 million in a Series B round led by Visionnaire Ventures and joined by Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz and others, TechCrunch reports. The Silicon Valley-based company recently began a national program in Rwanda to deliver to clinics serving 6 million people.
