San Francisco-based, mobile learning startup Inkling raised a $16 million series C round led by Sequoia Capital, with participation from Felicis Ventures, Tenaya Capital, and JAFCO Ventures. Inkling has also partnered with academic publishers, Pearson and Elsevier. Founded in 2009, Inkling has raised $48 million.

Palo Alto-based, personalized audio news and information app Swell raised a $5.4 million series A round led by Draper Fisher Jurvetson, with contributions from Correlation Ventures, Google Venture, and Interwest Partners. Swell has content from NPR, BBC, TED Talks, and more. Founded in 2012, Concept.io, the creators of Swell, has raised $7.2 million.

San Francisco-based, cocktails and spirits guide Liquor.com raised a $3.1 million series B round from Suffolk Equity Partners. Liquor.com plans to expand its mobile and social platforms to help increase traffic, which is currently 1.3 million monthly visitors.
