Ford to invest $1B in Argo AI
Ford is investing $1 billion over the next five years in Argo AI, a startup that develops AI-based technology for self-driving vehicles. Argo, which is based in Pittsburgh, with offices in Southeastern Michigan and Silicon Valley, plans to have more than 200 employees by the end of the year.
Grab acquires Kudo
Grab, an Indonesia-based ride-hailing service focused on Southeast Asia, has agreed to acquire Kudo, a payments processing company also headquartered in Indonesia, for over $100 million, according to a Reuters report.
ID management heats up
Identity management isn’t the most high-profile sector, but it’s been attracting a lot of capital lately. Overall, ID management companies generated well over $6 billion in acquisitions last year from strategic and private equity buyers, according to a TechCrunch report using Crunchbase data. Healthcare-focused ID applications attracted particular interest.
