Google curbs ultrafast internet rollout
Google says it is curbing the expansion of its ultrafast internet service and cutting jobs in that division. In conjunction with that move, Craig Barratt, the CEO of Access, the division overseeing the rollout of Google Fiber, is stepping down.
DAQRI said to seek up to $200M for workplace AR
DAQRI, a maker of augmented reality systems for workplaces, is seeking to raise as much as $200 million in private funding, according to a Bloomberg report citing unnamed sources. The Los Angeles-based company is best known for developing a “smart helmet” for use in AR environments.
Culture Trip, a London-based online publisher of articles and recommendations targeted to readers’ tastes, has raised $20 million in a Series A round led by PPF Group, TechCrunch reports.
Lendio raises round for small biz lending
Lendio, an online platform for connecting small businesses and lenders, announced that it raised $20 million in a funding round led by Comcast Ventures and Stereo Capital. The Salt Lake City company has raised more than $50 million over the past six years from venture investors.
