Pet care network Rover.com has raised $40 million in a Series E round led by Foundry Group and Menlo Ventures. The Seattle-based company says it has amassed more than 65,000 pet sitters and dog walkers in its network and is on track to triple its revenue this year. Prior to the Series E, Rover had raised just over $50 million.
Stanford, MIT lead in launching startup founders
Stanford and MIT are the top universities for graduating founders of funded startups, according to a TechCrunch report ranking top schools using Crunchbase data. Stanford was the overwhelming leader in spawning funded startup founders, with more than 225 so far this year, followed by MIT, with at least 145.
Carrick raises $95M for cancer therapies
Carrick Therapeutics, a newly launched startup with operations in Dublin and Oxford, is starting out with $95M in funding for founders stated plan of building one of Europe’s leading developers of cancer therapies. ARCH Venture Partners and Woodford Investment Management led the funding round, which included at least seven investment firms.
