Bayer to buy Monsanto in $66B merger deal
Bayer and Monsanto have signed a definitive merger agreement under which Bayer will acquire Monsanto in an all-cash transaction valued around $66 billion. The deal will create a company commanding more than a quarter of the combined world market for seeds and pesticides in a fast-consolidating farm supplies industry, Reuters reports.
Concur to acquire travel startup Hipmunk
Concur, an SAP-owned provider of travel and expense management applications, announced that it has agreed to acquire venture-backed travel startup Hipmunk. San Francisco, California-based Hipmunk, which offers search and planning tools for booking travel transportation and accommodations, previously raised about $55 million in venture funding.
Philz Coffee perks up with $45M Series C

Philz Coffee, a chain with a cult-like following in Silicon Valley, just announced that it raised $45 million in a Series C financing that includes backing from TPG Growth. Troubled Rothenberg Ventures renames as Frontier Tech
Rothenberg Ventures, a once high-flying venture firm currently facing staff departures and financial troubles, is renaming itself Frontier Tech Venture Capital in an apparent move to disassociate its brand from founder and namesake Mike Rothenberg, according to a Backchannel report.
