Velodyne LiDAR raises $150M for driverless car sensors
Velodyne LiDAR, a developer of sensor technology used in autonomous vehicles, announced that it has raised $150 million from co-investors Ford and Baidu.
Messaging app Hike joins unicorn club
India-based messaging app Hike is the newest member of the unicorn club, TechCrunch reports. The four-year-old company just closed $175 million at a valuation of $1.4 billion in a funding round led by new investors Tencent and Foxconn.
Snapchat snaps up Vurb for more than $110M
Snapchat is buying Vurb, a provider of tools for searching and making plans on mobile devices, for $110 million plus retention payments, TechCrunch reports. San Francisco-based Vurb previously raised $10 million in venture funding.
Salesforce buys BeyondCore
Salesforce will buy analytics provider BeyondCore for an undisclosed sum. Silicon Valley-based BeyondCore previously raised $9 million in venture funding. (Disclosure: Salesforce is an investor in CrunchBase.)
