Social Capital released a report this morning on the state of diversity in venture capital, and the results are not too surprising: 92% of senior investment team members at top venture firms are men, and 78% of them are white. When it comes to the 71 most active U.S. firms (representing more than $160B in assets under management), 21 of them (30%) employ exclusively white investment leadership. Head to TechCrunch for a full breakdown of the report. 500 Startups has added yet another geo-focused fund, 500 Istanbul, to its growing collection that includes 500 Durians (Southeast Asia), 500 TukTuks (Thailand), Startupwallah (India) and 500 Startups Japan. The new Turkish fund plans to invest $15M in 100 Turkish startups over the next several years. Matrix Partners, an early stage venture fund based in Palo Alto, announced it's adding Hardi Meybaum to its roster this morning as the firm's 10th general partner. Born in Estonia, Meybaum founded computer-aided design startup GrabCAD in 2009, which he sold for a reported $100M to 3D printing giant Stratasys last year. Guess what? We've got another survey for you. If you're a tech company in the UK, Tech City UK (in partnership with Nesta and Growth Intelligence) wants to hear from you.
