It's no surprise that Harvard, Stanford, and MIT claim the largest number of female founder graduates, according to the latest CrunchBase Report. What's more interesting is that male founders are twice as likely as women to have a STEM undergrad degree. The White House held its first ever Demo Day yesterday to promote diversity in tech, and we had a great time. Fastly, a content delivery service based in San Francisco, announced $75M in Series D funding led by ICONIQ Capital. This brings Fastly's funding total to $129M in five rounds from a list of 9 investors. Ben Thompson of Stratechery discusses the future of paid content and TV. As cable channels are slowly replaced by online video, he says, a few streaming giants (ESPN, HBO, Netflix, and Amazon Prime Video among them) will wage an intense competition for consumer attention and dollars.
